Spring gear can be a money pit if you're not careful. Here are four things from Eco Fishing Shop we'd actually put on our own kayaks — and nothing we wouldn't.

🎯 GEAR GUIDE

What We'd Actually Buy This Spring

NRS Chinook Fishing PFD — $159.95

I’ve used this PFD for 3 years and it’s one of the most solid ones around. Low profile, tons of pockets, mesh back so you’re not swamped in sweat by 9am. Perfect for storage and keeping gear close at hand.

YakGear Backwater Assassin Carbon Fiber Paddle — $157.99

Carbon fiber shaft, fiberglass blades, adjustable length. Noticeably lighter than the stock paddle — your shoulders will thank you around hour three.

Wilderness Systems Heavy Duty Kayak Kart — $219.99 (8% off)

I’ve used this cart for 5 years and it’s still going strong. Flat-free tires, folds down, handles heavy kayaks without drama. If you’re still bear-hugging your yak down the ramp, get a cart.

Jackson Bite Angler Fishing Kayak — $1,099

Stable, fishable, well-rigged out of the box, and under $1,100 from a brand that knows what they’re doing. If you’ve been waiting for the right time — this is it.

ReelYaks Raptor 9.5ft Pedal Fishing Kayak — $1,199 (20% off)

Pedal drive, modular build, 380 lb capacity, and $300 off right now. A lot of kayak for the money if you’re looking to get into a pedal setup without dropping two grand.

🎯 KFD Meetup Recap — Leaser Lake, PA

About a dozen guys came out to Leaser Lake from PA, Jersey, and Connecticut for our latest KFD Meetup. Fishing was a little tough, lots of small bass and panfishm but Corey stuck a tank and landed his personal best, a 5-2 largemouth at 20". Can't beat that. Great time meeting everyone and putting faces to names. Next meetup is Cayuga Lake on June 20th.
